It started in the year 1866, when the Wilkinson family purchased the land. The first vineyard was planted in Pokolbin the same year. At the age of 15, Audrey assumed the role of running his family’s vineyard after his parents died. It’s said he was a natural with the sense of taste when it came to wine. As the technology evolved, Audrey assisted in developing ground breaking technology like cement fermenters and steam powered crushes and hopper. Then, there was no turning back, in 1903, Audrey won many awards for his hock, claret and fortified wines.
