Cannes Film Festival Three-Day Special in October

Fans thought of the Cannes Film Festival of this year, but recently, the organizers announced that the plan of the festival is still on for this year. Cannes Festival is an annual film festival held in Cannes, France. It previews new movies of all genres from around the world. The Cannes Film Festival was founded in 1946 at the Palais des Festivals et des Congres. The co-founder and former head of the TV operator Canal+, Pierre Lescure took over the President of the festival, and Thierry Fremaux became the General Delegate. It is one of the big five film festivals including the Berlin International Film Festival in Germany, the Venice Film Festival in Italy, the Sundance Film Festival in the United States, and the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada.

The Palais des Festival planned to host a ‘Special Cannes’ event and will run from 27 October to 29 October 2020. The festival will feature four films that are the Official Selection of this year. The Cannes Film Festival of this year will be open to the public, and the jury will award the Cinefondation prizes and Palme d’Or for short movies. The director of the festival, Thierry Fremaux said, there are a collection of four movies in the Official Selection, the film school competition, the short film competition, and the dinner meetings epitomize the happiness where everyone will feel together in Cannes in October. The movies of the Official Selection are now playing to cinemagoers in Europe, in France, and throughout the world.

The team started the Cannes Festival to appeal as a French Riviera resort town and because the city hall offered to increase the financial participation of the municipality including the dedicated venue for the event. The mini-festival will open with “Un Triomphe” (which is The Big Hit!). It is a comedy movie created by director Emmanuel Courcol telling a true story with plenty of humour and heart. The film casts Kad Merad in the leading role of the touching comedy. The event will conclude with “Les Deux Alfred” (The French Tech) directed by Bruno Podalydes and is scheduled in 2021.

 It was also featured at the Deauville American Film Festival in September 2020. The movie revolves around an unemployed person who has to hide the existence of a child to work in a startup. It will also feature “Asa Ga Kuru” (True Mothers) directed by a Japanese filmmaker Naomi Kawase. The film is based on the novel written by Mizuki Tsujimura. “Beginning” will also feature in the event, the debut by Georgian filmmaker Dea Kulumbegashvili, who won the award of Concha de Oro for the Best Film at the San Sebastian International Film Festival.

The mayor of Cannes, David Lisnard said they wanted the presence of the Cannes Film Festival in 2020 to motivate and symbolize to fight on behalf of the event to provide a living for hundreds of families and create a cultural impact for the city.
