by Abhinav Immigration Services Digital Marketing Executive
In its latest Express Entry draw, the Government of Canada has released the details about sending 668 Invitations to Apply for permanent residence in Canada. The draw for Canada PR visa brings down the total of invitations to apply issued so far via Express Entry system to 19, 368.

This is because this draw includes applicants that had provincial nominations aligned with Express Entry system. If you are thinking that COVID-19 outbreak has hampered the influx of permanent residency, you are in for a surprise as the Canadian immigration latest news speaks about how Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) services of Canada is striving to meet its immigration targets set for 2020.  Many of these applicants will be allocated permanent residency berths via Express Entry System of Canada.

The Express Entry system for Canada Immigration mainly manages three of the following key three Federal High Skilled economic immigration programs, namely the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.

If you are an eligible applicant you will be ranked on the Express Entry pool based on during the 2020-2022 Immigration Levels Plan of the federal government of Canada. scores that will be granted based on multiple parameters of age, skilled work experience, proficiency in English or French language, educational qualifications as well as other additional factors of arranged employment and adaptability.

Amongst them only a selected number of high scoring applicants are issued an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence. This draw is done through regular draws from the Express Entry pool, and which takes place every two weeks.

If we look at the figures in comparison to 320,000 newcomers in 2018, in 2019 a total of 341,000 immigrants were admitted as permanent residency in Canada. This year another 341,000 are being targeted to be filled, as per the new immigration targets that were released last week

Many of the newcomers of Canada are projected to arrive under the economic class immigration programs, with 58 percent of them to come via Express Entry programs, the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), Quebec’s programs, and other federal streams such as the Atlantic Immigration Pilot (AIP).

If Express entry applicants applying for their Canada PR visa are not scoring enough, and are looking forward to improve their CRS score tally, they have a choice of doing this by improving their IELTS language scores to securing a provincial nomination from one of the Canadian provinces. A PNP nomination can fetch an applicant as much as 600 additional CRS points. This will easily help them in obtaining permanent residency.

Provinces like Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) has sent invites for permanent residence 1,750 Express Entry applicants through the Express Entry sub-category of its immigrant nominee program, and in January, the Canadian province of Ontario has issued invitations to apply to 954 Express Entry candidates, with work experience in six of their tech occupations.
