What is kidney shrinkage?

Healthy and normal-sized kidneys are a sign of intact internal management of your body. Kidneys are small in size but their functions play a huge role in providing the balance that your body requires. Normal kidneys are fist-sized about 5 inches. Some diseases can cause a whole lot of damage to kidneys and their functions.

A normal-sized kidney works normally but an abnormal sized kidney can procure abnormal function which can lead to several complications in your body. The abnormal sized kidney is the one that shrinks to abnormal size and it is known as an atrophic kidney. This is also called renal atrophy.

Kidney shrinkage can occur for two reasons. The first reason is renal hypoplasia where the kidney does not develop in the womb or during the time of birth. The second reason for the shrinkage of kidneys occurs after birth. It is caused by the lack of blood supply to the kidneys. Kidneys consist of millions of nephrons that are structural and functional. Each nephron has a filter which is known as the glomerulus. Loss of nephrons can also cause the kidneys to be smaller than their actual size. Detection of chronic infections and blockage in the tiny blood vessels of kidneys can also cause an atrophic kidney.

As a result, the size abnormality of the kidney can lead them to lose their ability to function anymore. Which can result in kidney failure or end-stage renal disease eventually. That is why the treatment of the shrunken kidney is important. Ayurvedic kidney shrinkage treatment can cover the loss of kidney function as soon as the condition has been detected.

What are the causes of kidney shrinkage?

Other medical conditions can trigger the loss of nephrons and cause the kidneys to shrink. Ayurvedic kidney shrinkage treatment deals with the underlying causes first as they are the foundation from where the condition developed.

The following conditions can be associated with kidney shrinkage:

     Antiphospholipid syndrome.

Certain kidney infections like pyelonephritis can block the blood flow to the kidneys.

     Metabolic syndrome.

High blood pressure weakens the arteries surrounding the kidneys.

Atherosclerotic renal artery stenosis is a medical condition that narrows the renal arteries. The main arteries that are responsible for supplying blood to the kidneys are blocked due to the major condition.

Obstructions in the urinary tract can block the normal flow of urine due to which the pressure falls onto the kidneys and damages the nephrons.

Kidney stones can cause a blockage within the kidneys.

The damage to the kidneys progresses over time due to inadequate blood flow to the kidneys. You are at higher risk of developing kidney shrinkage if you suffer from these medical conditions. They are as follows:

Diabetes is one of the leading causes of irreparable damage to the kidneys.

Inherited kidney diseases such as polycystic kidney disease can also cause a lot of obstructions in the functioning of kidneys.

     Cardiovascular diseases.

Chronic kidney disease vandalizes the functioning nephrons within kidneys over a long period and causes disarrangement in the size of the kidney.

What are the signs and symptoms of kidney shrinkage?

Rare cases of kidney shrinkage can experience noticeable symptoms while others live with the condition unknowingly. When the development of cause is slow then no symptoms arrive until the extremity of the abnormal functioning of the shrunken kidney has reached severe stages.

     Sensations of pain during urination.

     Abdominal pain.

     Side pain.

Detection of blood in the urine.

     Frequently urinating.

     Itchy skin.

     Muscle cramps.

     Swelling in hands and feet.

Other signs that indicate shrunken kidney are:

     Acidosis.

     Anorexia.

     High creatinine concentration.

     Electrolyte abnormalities.

     Malnutrition.

The Ayurvedic kidney shrinkage treatment puts an end to the recurring symptoms that create discomfort for the patient due to the diagnosis.

When to see the doctor?

If you are experiencing any of the signs and symptoms of a major health condition then you need to seek medical advice and opt for an immediate treatment that can help in recovering the lost kidney function.

Can Ayurveda treat kidney shrinkage?

Ayurveda is an ancient medical science that can treat even major health conditions like kidney disease, cardiovascular disease or cancer. The Ayurvedic kidney shrinkage treatment has a line of authentic and natural treatments that work in the advancement of patient’s physical and mental well being.

The impaired kidney function can be repaired by making modifications in the diet and lifestyle of a patient. The customized diet chart restricts high salt intake and recommends fresh fruits, green vegetables and essential oils that nourish the damage in the patient’s body. The herb-based medications recover the damaged nephrons and filtering parts of the kidney. They do not cause any harmful effects on the shrunken kidney while they stop other medical conditions from injuring the abnormal kidney. They are made of pure and organic herbs and are free of side effects.

If you follow the fundamental principles of Ayurvedic kidney shrinkage treatment, it can help in reviving the kidney function naturally and prevents you from undergoing painful and expensive treatments like dialysis or renal transplant.
