Caesarean or Normal Delivery? All you need to know!
by Vivek Choudhary Nice lifePregnancy occurs when a sperm
from one partner fertilizes the egg which is released during ovulation in another
partner. The process of successful implantation of a fertilized egg on the
uterine walls results in pregnancy. The full term of pregnancy is normally
about forty weeks. The symptoms of pregnancy are usually just headaches,
spotting, altered hormone levels, nausea, etc. Pregnancy is studied after
dissecting its life into three trimesters. Do note that there are many pregnancy pain centre in
Gurgaon at your service if need be.
Upon the end of pregnancy, the
foetus is delivered through two delivery methods- Caesarean and Normal
delivery. Both these ways are deemed as safe for both the newborn infant as
well as the parent.
Caesarean delivery also called
caesarean section (C-section) is the process of delivering the foetus
surgically. This method is opted for when vaginal delivery poses harm towards
the parent or baby’s health. Caesarean delivery takes approximately an hour and
makes use of general anaesthesia(to numb the pain) and a spinal block(spinal
anaesthesia). The first incision is made near the abdomen and the second near
the uterus for sufficient spacing needs. The incisions are stitched back
immediately after the process of delivery is completed. The new parent can
breastfeed immediately after they are out of the ICU and can return home after
a few days of care in the painless delivery hospital.
Normal delivery, also known as
vaginal delivery is the process of delivering the foetus through the birth
canal. It is the most common way of delivering an offspring as it requires
minimal instruments, skill and is financially viable for many people who cannot
afford medical treatment. This method has three stages to it- 1) stage of
contractions, 2) birth of offspring and 3) delivery of the following placenta.
Vaginal delivery exhibits long periods of contractions which increase
eventually resulting in the descent of the baby and followed by it, the
clamping of the umbilical cord. Make it a point to go to only the best gynaecologist in
Gurgaon for normal delivery.
According to WHO (World Health
Organization), vaginal delivery should be the general way of delivering a child
as it occurs without external help. They have also made clear that caesarean
delivery methods should only be provided in cases of medical complications.
However, some parents feel that caesarean is a simpler way and they opt for it.
