s  Face grain-

This type of cutting board has a wider surface made from joining blocks at the edges. These are individual pieces glued together to give a better surface for chopping anything. The number of pieces can be counted.Face grain block has a risk of warping but is less expensive.

s  Edge grain-

This is a better quality board than flat panel.Edge grain boards are thicker and made by joining wooden blocks face to face with thin bands across the surface.Benefit is edge grain types are comparatively less prone to scarring or warping. You can get an edge grain countertop in your kitchen.

s  End grain-

These types of cutting boards are made from joining the ends of wood slabs. These end grains form the surface of work. End grain cutting blocks have the self-healing feature. There’s no risk of warp or splinter as the fibres face in opposite directions. However, they are expensive as theconstruction of end grain butcher blocks requires much labour.
