As part of the treatment, women who are affected with breast cancer have some type of surgery prescribed by their respective physician. In view of above it is important to note that there are various kinds of surgery and the variety has been necessitated by different reasons based on various situations.

Surgeries may be done for the following reasons:

·     Sentinel lymph node biopsy – This is executed to understand whether the cancer has extended to the lymph nodes under the arm.
