Bling Up Your #OOTD With Charming Fitness Jewelry

If you aren't aware of #OOTD, it’s Outfit Of The Day. Instagram models add this hashtag when they post pictures of their workouts. Whether you follow the trend or not, you have to admit; the trend is pretty rad. 


Adding little pieces of jewelry spruces up one’s outfit. It shows to people that you haven’t just gotten out of bed and showed up for your workout. Instead, you spent some time thinking about your outfit. It shows people the effort you put into making yourself ready for your workout. It shows you mean business and that you don't take your workout sessions lightly.



Putting in thought to your outfit also allows you to feel mindful and prepared for what lays ahead of you. You are telling your mind that you want to work out, and you are creating that zone within your mind to show up for yourself. 


Did you know that motivation is built moment by moment? Is it also dependent on motivation? That means, no matter what you tell yourself, if you want to get motivated: you need to do the task. Motivation follows if you do your task. 


People generally think that if you are motivated, you can do anything. It’s the other way round. If you do something (e.g., a workout), you get more motivated to continue doing it. That is why when you choose to put effort into selecting your workout clothes; you are doing small tasks to prepare your mind to train harder.


Now that we have the psychology aspect cleared, here are a few pointers to keep in mind while selecting your workout jewelry:

  1. Material Matters

Don’t purchase jewelry made out of Nickel, Brass, or Copper as they tarnish with water. When you work out, you sweat. Having jewelry made out of these metals would not just irritate your skin because of the friction but also need heavy maintenance to keep them shiny. Better to go for jewelry made out of stainless steel, silver, or gold. These materials are of higher quality, and they don’t rust just as quickly. They’re best for your workouts.

  1. Chemicals Matter

A lot of the jewelry out there is made of leather. We can’t tell you how annoying it is for us to find that happening. People buy these pieces because it looks Dope, but what they dont realize is that the moment these touch skin, the chemicals used during the processing stage interact with the skin and cause redness.


Apart from that, the constant friction caused on the skin because of the wetness also creates irritation. Your skin can get sore and itchy. Best to avoid such situations.

  1. Size Matters

Don’t go around adding too much bling and heavy pieces to your workout outfit. These cause unnecessary distractions. They also get in the way of your workouts. These can get strangled during lifting weights if they’re too long or keep hitting your body with each movement.

  1. Motivation Matters

This is a great time to add your favorite quotes/ affirmations to push you to work out harder. Symbols that remind you why you are working out are a powerful tool in your progression. Symbols like barbel rods can be a visual reminder of how far along you need to go. These are also fun to look at.
