BlackBerry PRIV sells up to 850,000 mark: Analyst
The BlackBerry PRIV is the latest and the very secure Android-Powered handset that has been recently launched by BB at the end of previous year. What made it stand out in the line of Blackberry smartphone is its highly customized and private Android operating system. This has given a new life to the BlackBerry line up. Thus BB hinted to leave its own OS and shift to more widely accepted software solutions. Due to this many have eye on the upcoming results and performance of the PRIV. Moreover, its sales are a vital indicator of how the company has positioned itself in the market. There were further prediction by some analyst that if PRIV does not make up mark, BB might plan to exit it mobile division and totally concentrate on its security business.
Speaking of which, BlackBerry is will soon out their financial results for the fourth quarter of 2015 and this will include an elaborate info on how the PRIV is selling since it has hit online store. But before that announcement, some of the analyst has been reported from Wells Fargo Securities that Blackberry recent sale predictions are very promising. It has also been reported that soon BlackBerry will confirm that they shipped 850,000 PRIV handsets during the quarter.
With this figure BlackBerry can also confidently announce that it will exceed above Wall Street expectations in terms of revenue for the aforementioned quarter. More specifically, its $571 million when compared to $565 million as per expected. So while above those expectations, not drastically. One of the prime reason which can make this figure a bit low than expected that the handset was only available in 20 countries. The limited availability did hinder the capability to sell more even if the online market was active. Very recently it has been announced that the PRIV will expand to 31 countries till February whereby the sales of the handset is likely to increase. On a more worthy note, the same analysts expect BlackBerry to out its yearly revenues of software which is approximately 500 million. Again, a figure which would exceed expectations if confirmed. Right now these are just the prediction so take as pinch of salt. Stay Tuned to read more about what the BB has to say on the announcement day of its BlackBerry PRIV financial report.
