Maharashtra is one of the wealthiest and most developed states in India. Everyone knows about the dream city Mumbai, but we rarely know about other places of Maharashtra, which offer a great deal to tourists and travelers. One such place is the Taluka of Bhusawal in the Jalgaon district of Maharashtra. The city is peaceful and serene and is known for its religious shrines, thermal power plants and tourist attractions such as Nadgaon.

Religious Places:  

If you like to visit religious places there is a lot you can do here. There are more than 50 religious spots in and around Bhusaval. Some of the most famous temples include the iconic Ram Mandir, Hanuman Mandir and Sai Mandir. The Mari Matha Mandir is the oldest temple in Bhusaval. Reflecting religious diversity, there is a Roman Catholic Church near the Bhusawal railway station called the Sacred Heart.

Near-by Attractions

•             Ajanta Caves: The world heritage site Ajanta caves are around 60 km from the city. The caves exhibit painting and sculptures that epitomize Buddhist religious art.

•             Anand Sagar: Most of the people who visit Bhusaval also go to Shegaon which is 120 km from the city. Anand Sagar is a multi-million project in Shegaon. With a lake and multiple gardens, it promotes environment-friendly entertainment. It alsohas temples, meditation centers, playgrounds and open theaters where fountain shows are performed. If you are visiting Bhusaval, this is one place you should definitely go.

•             Burhanpur: Burhanpur is known for its Islamic monuments and is around 71 kms from Bhusaval. It has many heritage sites like the Asirgarh Fort, Shahi Qila, Jama Masjid, Dargah-e-hakimi, etc.

Cuisine of Bhusaval

The staple food of the people of Bhusaval is similar to the conventional Marathi cuisine. The food here is predominantly vegetarian and often very spicy. Bhusaval offers a special variety of white brinjals which are often part of local delicacies during marriages.  Another native delicacy is the daal bhat toop, a lentil dish served with ghee and famous eggplant sabji called the vangyachi sabji.

There are a lot of local food chains operating in the city serving great traditional food and offer food delivery to all places including the Bhusaval station. You need not stop for a day in Bhusaval to enjoy the local food. If you are just crossing Bhusaval station and don’t plan on staying, you can order food delivery in Bhusaval station from websites offering local food an hour before your train reaches the Bhusaval station and the food will be served at your seat.

How to reach Bhusaval

Bhusaval is connected by air and rail making it easily accessible.

Airport: Aurangabad is the nearest airport from the city situated at a distance of 181 km.

Railway Station: Station is just 2 km away from the main city and is connected by day trains from Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad. Overnight trains are available from all major cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Kolkata.
