What is powder coating?

Powder coating is a color-finishing process in which the powder is used instead of the paint. It is a paint coating technique for metals used in industry to coat parts or products and in many business sectors such as industry, construction, railway, electronics, etc. Zigma Paints Pvt. Ltd. produced powder coating paint which are excellent corrosion protection coatings, which protect the surface along with excellent surface finishes such as glossy, semi glossy, satin, matt, structure, texture, metallic, antique, etc., They are highly resistant to corrosion.

Powder coating is available in a wide variety of textures, compositions, and polished paint colors. Polyester, polyurethane, epoxy-polyester, straight epoxy and acrylic are the most common polymers used. Powder Coating Paint is a pollution-free, VOC-free, eco-friendly and inexpensive approach that adds a robust, long-lasting finish to your parts.

How Powder Coating Works?

The powder is applied to the chosen surface with spray tools and heated to create a paint coat. Numerous ingredients can be made from the powder used in this process, such as acrylic, polyester, epoxy and polyurethane. Powder coating has a thicker and more consistent finish than normal for spray paint.

The selected surface must be prepared in advance of the powder coating to ensure proper adhesion of the finish. For industrial uses, the surface—usually metal—of any oil or debris that may otherwise impede the use of powder would be cleaned. During the application stage, the powder is transformed and attached to the chosen surface of what is known as the electrostatic phase in which the powder granules and the surface are co-charged with electrostatic volts.

Powder coating protects the roughest, hardest computer as well as household products on which you rely every day. It gives a longer-lasting finish than liquid paints can provide, while also offering an appealing finish. Powder coated products are more resistant to decreased coating content due to impact, moisture, contaminants, ultraviolet light and other severe weather conditions. This, in turn, decreases the risk of scratching, chipping, abrasions, rust, fading, and other wear problems.

POWDER COATING BENEFITS

Powder coats are solid, attractive, durable and appropriate for different surfaces. The various advantages of powder coating are ideally illustrated as follows:

·        Durable - Powder coating provides a thick, sticky finish that lasts longer than the traditional spray paint cover.

·        Fast - You can complete the powder coats in a single application, making the process easier and more effective.

·        Diverse - Powder coating allows for a range of colours because you can mix and manipulate the powders beforehand.

·        Eco-friendly - The method of powder coating is environmentally friendly due to the relative lack of contaminants or waste generated during the application.

·        Consistent - In contrast to spray paint, which can drip and scatter unevenly, powder coats create smooth and stable surfaces with little sign of application markings.
