Best Of 2019: 5 Of The Fascinating Things We Learned About Vaping This Year

by Liz Seyi Digital marketing manager

You might be reading this while still awaiting some Christmas time off, or you may have already been doing some snoozing after unwrapping the presents on the 25th itself.

Regardless, here at £1 Vape, we thought you might be interested in reminding yourself – or discovering for the first time – some of the things the wider UK and the world learned about vaping in 2019, with a little help from our own previous news updates.

Vaping’s hardly just some ‘trendy’ Millennial thing

We found out this much near the start of the year, when The Telegraph reported that it was actually 45-54-year-olds taking up the activity at the fastest rate. Nonetheless, e-cigarette use was continuing to be a big hit among 18-24-year-olds, 28% of which vaped as of 2018.

When vaping levels go up, smoking levels go down

This was certainly indicated by reassuring figures released by anti-smoking charity Action of Smoking and Health (ASH) in the autumn. Indeed, the data showed about half as many people vaping as smoking, as the proportion of vapers who were former smokers also went up, to 54.1%.

It can be good for your wallet, too

Do you often lament that you “can’t afford to quit smoking” because the alternatives seem to be so expensive? Well, research commissioned by the UK Vaping Industry Association (UKVIA) found that you could actually end up with extra cash in your pocket if you switched to vaping, The Sun reporting this could amount to an average of £346.32 a year.

Even the National Health Service (NHS) approves of it

Two of our news stories from earlier this year drew particular attention to how the NHS is encouraging its patients who smoke to adopt the better habit of e-cigarette use. Not only did we report plans to recommend vaping to patients at NHS hospitals in the North East of England, but we also revealed vape shops had even opened at two Midlands NHS hospitals.

There really is an abundance of options for e-liquids

OK, so we’re sure this is something plenty of you knew about long before 2019! Nonetheless, we’re proud to say it’s been a vintage year for our team here at £1 Vape, and that’s largely because of the stellar variety of e-juices we’ve been able to offer to vaping enthusiasts like you. Whether you would like to shop for e-liquids fruit mixes, Tobacco E-Liquids, shortfills or nicotine salts – to name just some of your options – we give you them in our online store, at excellent prices.

In summary, it’s been a fine past 12 months for both vaping in general, and our store – and we can’t wait to see what 2020 brings. Why not browse our convenient one-stop shop now, to get reacquainted with your old favourites or discover a few new ones?
