Background Removal in Photoshop with the Magic Wand Tool

by Lisa Maria Graphic Designer

Some images might have a solid color background that separates the background and the subject totally. In this case, you can use the Magic Wand Tool that works great on the images like this. The background is deleted with the Magic Wand just with one click.

Before starting the work you should always rename the layer of the background removal so that you don’t get confused with the layers. You can name it as ‘Background’; it is a very important step to do. Make sure you choose the layer zero for the renaming option while confirming.

After all, this chooses the Magic Wand Tool and select the background with the tool, this is the automation process where the image background is selected all by the tool with a click only. Hold on to the shift key to select the multiple areas faster. This will work great when the background color and the subject color is different, this helps to select the background without any confusion. Here tolerance helps in cutting background or fading the background as you want, you can also make the background faded but if you make the tolerance higher than you will remove the background totally. After the tolerance is highly added the background is deleted and seen as the Transparent Background. This tool can be very handy when you have less time to do background removal.
