B Arch Entrance Exam 2020 Date, Eligibility, Fees Details

From the first day of February 2020, the application process for the NATA exam has already commenced. Those who want to appear in NATA 2020 may seek much useful information like B Arch entrance exam date 2020, eligibility criteria and fee details to name a few. 

 

NATA: A brief overview
NATA stands for National Aptitude Test in Architecture which is conducted by Council of Architecture (CoA). Architecture aspirants, for different renowned institutions spread across India that run a 5-year degree course in architecture, appear in this exam. 

 

As you may already know the registration process for NATA 2020 has already begun from February 1st, 2020. This undergraduate entrance exam is an online-cum-paper based test. After 2019, this exam is conducted twice a year for the following academic year. Nevertheless, contenders are necessarily not expected to appear both times. However, if one does take up both tests, the best score will be considered for the further admission procedure. 

 

Common yet important NATA questions of applicants

 

1. What is the last date of application for the NATA test? 

As mentioned above, the registration process is on from 1st February and it will remain open till March 16, 2020, for the first phase and May 4, 2020, for phase-2. 

2. What is the minimum eligibility criterion for appearing in the NATA exam? 

Applications of candidates with 50% and above marks in 10+2 exam are accepted with Mathematics as one of their subjects. 

3. Can the NATA application form be filled online? 

Candidates are supposed to go to NATA 2020 registration as the registration process is completely online itself. CoA does not entertain any kind of postal communication. NATA admit cards can also be downloaded online separately for both the sessions.  

4. Is there any increase in the NATA application fee this year? 

NATA application fee for general candidates is now 2000 INR which was 1800 INR previously. NATA fee has also increased from 1500 to 1700 INR for SC/ST candidates. 

5. What are the major changes in the NATA 2020 exam pattern? 

This year, CoA has introduced some major changes in its test pattern. Part A (online) now will be consisting of 3 drawing questions with a weightage of 125 marks. Part B which earlier used to test candidates for their mathematical skills and general aptitude, will now be of PCM with 50 questions of 75 marks.   

6. What is the marking scheme of questions in the NATA test? 

Each correct answer gets 1.5 marks in PCM and General Aptitude section. On the other hand, 3 drawing questions will be of 35 marks, 35 marks, and 55 marks respectively.


Furthermore, candidates who score a minimum 25% marks in MCQ and drawing sections and general aptitude, and, also score equal to or more than overall qualifying marks would qualify NATA 2020 test. 

7. What is the NATA 2020 exam date

Council of Architecture will conduct the test on April 19, 2020, and May 31, 2020, for both April and May session respectively.
