Ayurvedic Home remedies for dysmenorrhea

by Emma Daniel Content Writer

Ayurveda has a cure for almost everything, and painful menstrual cramps are no different. Bleeding these five days a month is a reality in every woman's life. During your period, your body uses extra energy to clear the reproductive system of accumulated toxins. New blood cells (blood metals) are created to replenish the loss, which is only possible when you rest your body.

However, you cannot deny that crankiness, mood swings, and painful interruptions work your body and mind for extra time. However, did you know that Ayurveda medicine also has a remedy to soothe them?

Massage With Essential Oils

Add a drop of any essential oil to any carrier oil and give yourself a gentle ayurvedic massage. The ideal ratio is one teaspoon of carrier oil to one drop of essential oil. Give yourself a massage for 20 to 30 minutes for effective results. Also, when massaging, one should notice specific points on the lower abdomen, back, and sides.

Put Cinnamon In Your Recipes

Cinnamon has anti-spasmodic, anti-clotting, and anti-inflammatory properties, which is a valuable relief for menstrual pain relief. So, during your period, try taking cinnamon-infested recipes. Stir in a cup of hot water with a quarter teaspoon of cinnamon powder, boil for five minutes, add a little honey, and then slowly sip.

Include Ginger In Your Diet

Ginger acts as a fantastic medicine and plays a vital role in reducing the levels of period pain. It helps fight the fatigue of premenstrual syndrome. You can use an old recipe, such as crushed ginger and boil it in a cup of water, spread it, add a little honey and lemon juice.

Do Light Exercise

To get rid of the pain of menstruation, try some yoga poses. Whether it is the effect of stretching your muscles or relaxing your poses, yoga can help your cramps. You can try walking and meditating.

This may seem utterly unreasonable because the pain can cause you to get out of bed, but all you need is the right kind of exercise. We do not tell you to perform any activity forcefully.

Cumin Seeds

Cumin or jeera can be used to make herbal tea, as we call it. It has antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties, making it instantly comfortable when swallowed and highly beneficial in relieving menstrual cramps.

Heat

Ayurvedic doctor  at Sunshine Ayurveda says that applying a hot water bottle is the most well-known period-comfort remedy that all women come back to, and it is essential to know that using heat to our lower abdomen during periods helps to relax muscle contractions in the uterus. Taking a sip on warm liquids and taking a hot shower helps relieve the pain and make you feel relieved.

Lastly,

A woman must understand that it is not something to be ashamed of or to be accepted silently. This time stand up and ask for what we deserve. And we, as women, earn the right to a healthy menstrual routine. Use these helpful, easy home remedies to relieve your menstrual cramps.
