Australian Doctors Back Vaping As A Possible Aid To Quitting Smoking

As reported by the Daily Mail, the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners has updated its guidance with new advice on how smokers can replace their reliance on nicotine.

Doctors in the country said that the chemicals used in e-cigarettes compared to those used in cigarettes meant vaping made sense as a second line of defence for those attempting to stop smoking.

Evidence continues to point towards the usefulness of vaping

Professor Nicholas Zwar, who chairs the guide’s advisory group, said that e-cigarette use could be considered as a support therapy. He added that research showed multiple forms of nicotine replacement were better than one.

It isn’t only the Australians, however, who have noticed how useful the adoption of e-cigarettes can be for fighting a smoking habit.

The scientists said that ‘chronic’ tobacco smokers – defined as those who smoked a minimum of 15 cigarettes a day for two years – saw an almost immediate benefit when they began to vape instead.
