by Rudy P. SysAdmin at howtofindthemoney
Austindo Nusantara Jaya was established on April 16, 1993 under the name PT Austindo TeguhJaya (ATJ). The name was changed to PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya (ANJ) on July 16, 1998. In 2012 ANJ began to concentrate on palm oil while growing new businesses based on other food crops, to support our vision of becoming a world-class agribusiness-based food company. The second part of our vision, to be a company that elevates the lives of people and nature, reflects our commitment to achieving a sustainable balance between our economic, social and environmental responsibilities that allows humanity and nature to flourish and prosper.

The Company was listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange in 2013, offering 10% of its shares at the time of its Initial Public Offering. The Company’s experience, expertise and success have led to its business expansion. Currently, ANJ does not only focus on oil palm plantation, but also oversees sago project (from harvesting to processing into sago starch), edamame cultivation in cooperation with local farmers and entered into a strategic partnership with AJI HK Limited to facilitate frozen edamame's market expansion into Asia Pacific region.

ANJ is committed to continuing innovation and efficiency in all its lines of business. The Company’s effort to improve productivity goes hand in hand with its commitment to conserve the environment and elevate the people’s lives.

PALM KERNEL

The palm kernel is the edible seed of the oil palm fruit. The fruit yields two distinct oils: palm oil derived from the outer parts of the fruit, and palm kernel oil derived from the kernel.

PALM OIL

ANJ currently owns four fully operational oil palm plantations: two in North Sumatra, one on Belitung Island, off the eastern coast of Sumatra, and one in West Kalimantan.

SAGO

Our sago harvesting and processing operation in South Sorong, West Papua, is operated by our subsidiary PT ANJ Agri Papua (ANJAP) since September 2007.

ANJ has invested more than US$70 million dollars to develop sago harvesting and processing operation located in South Sorong, West Papua. The investment is aimed to improve West Papua economic development by creating employment that generates a multiplier effect, which will eventually increase regional income.

EDAMAME

In 2012, following ANJ’s decision to streamline its core activities to focus on agribusiness (oil palm, food (sago), and renewable energy), the management decided to gradually exit the tobacco business and concentrate on higher-value agricultural products.

Since 2014, we have performed extensive trials in cultivating edamame, a high-protein green bean belonging to the soybean family (Glycine max.), and consumed as a snack or vegetable dish.
