Image Cerebral palsy comes in four different varieties. Actually, there are probably more but there are at least four major varieties one of them is called Ataxic cerebral palsy. It is probably one of the more rare forms affecting only about 10 percent of those who are diagnosed with cerebral palsy. The ataxic form of cerebral palsy is caused by damage to the cerebellar portion of the brain. Cerebral palsy is the term comes from cerebellar which part of the brain and palsy which means a movement disorder. So, cerebral palsy and the taxing a variety refers to damage to the cerebellar portion of the brain or that part of the brain that controls coordination and results in what's called a taxi or essentially the same kind of movements that you might see in somebody who is severely intoxicated, they tend to walk funny. If they are able to walk their movements are poorly coordinated between fine muscles movement and major bigger muscle movement. So that not coordinated. So they will see jerky movements. It's a combination of spastic movements combined with fine motor movements or where parts of it does work so wind up with very jerky Spastic dis coordinated movement so ataxic cerebral palsy is one of the several varieties of cerebral palsy that essentially results in severe dis coordination because it affects the cerebellum or the coordinating movement of the brain.
