At the beginning I wish to say that this post is completely inspired

Given the growing popularity of online shopping for books, I chose to do a comparative analysis of other services, their delivery periods, tracking systems, and the different websites that are mostly used by men and women to order books online, when it comes to the reductions they provide. The book that I wanted to purchase was a publication on the environment called "Something new Under the Sun".

At the beginning I wish to say that this post is completely inspired by an identical post by Manshu on onemint some two years back. He drew a comparative analysis of the websites that were most popular in those days. Many new sites have sprung up, and since the sizes of the user base of different websites have changed tremendously over past both years, I've done a similar investigation for the ones that are popular nowadays. There might, however, still be some overlaps.

Batranovelties: The very first site I checked was Batranovelties since I've used it before and was pleased with its services. They'd the publication in both hardbound together with paperback variants. 576. Yet, just the Norton variation was in stock. The estimated delivery time was given to be 3-4 days, and given my earlier experiences, I am certain I'd get it in that much time.

Batranovelties not only provides a Cash on Delivery option, but is among the hardly any sites in India offering an EMI payment alternative even for publications (for the very least order of Rs. 4000 though). In addition, it has a 30-day replacement interval unlike other websites which have maximum or a 7 10 day replacement interval.

If I will get the publication cheaper elsewhere quite meeting, butlet's see.

India Plaza: The paperback versions by Penguin and Norton were for Rs. 934 and Rs.415 respectively. The Penguin variant was out of stock. So essentially, the publication was not slightly more expensive than that which it was at batranovelties. The difference in estimated delivery times, however, more than accounted for the difference in prices. The little difference in costs (of approximately Rs. 50) came using a delivery time of 15-16 days.

Not a wise decision for me since I really don't wish to wthat long.

Infibeam: The hardbound version was accessible for Rs.4686. Absolutely out of my budget. The paperback version was available for Rs.910. The nice part about that site is the fact that it also offers you the possibility of purchasing books that are used. A hardbound version of the book was available for only Rs. 617, but the only real problem was that it could take 2-4 weeks for shipping (since the owner was an American). Transportation too was free. But I believe I Had rather go in for a fresh one.

This site also had the option of getting publications delivered as a gift for a birthday/ at midnight any other occasion

Pustak: It also had a used version of the paperback book available for Rs. 547.

A drawback with this site, nevertheless, is the fact that it does not provide you with the choice of payment of Cash on Delivery (COD).

Fares as compared to the other websites on both variables.

Crossword: The paperback version can be obtained for Rs.918, and also the estimated delivery time is 10-15 days. Do not have that much time so this is undoubtedly not an option.

Bookadda: A bad option on both accounts.

uRead: Furthermore, COD option is not accessible.

NBCIndia: The paperback version is for Rs.857, but is currently out of stock. COD option is also not accessible. Also, the website does not specify any estimated delivery time.

I finally made a decision to go with Infibeam, since the cost was good enough given the access to the COD option, availability of a tracking system, along with the other variables like delivery time.

On comparing for other novels, especially those by Indian writers, I realised that HomeShop18 and IndiaPlaza stand out as far as their costs and delivery times are worried. One of many other budding hubs for purchasing books online is Schooling Nest. My analysis would urge all of the book lovers to watch out for this one. Though it is at its nascent phase, it is one site that has managed to assemble a wide selection of novels for all intents. Besides all these, given its impressive services pre and post delivery, Batranovelties has emerged as one of the hot favourite.
