Assemblies in QuickBooks
QuickBooks assists with this procedure, but it may still be a intricate undertaking.
Before you begin, make certain that you've created detailed records for each one of the items which you'll be combining in assemblies.
We will examine the actions required to make an extremely simple assembly. There are various issues that could arise because you continue to produce and market builds.
Open the Vendors menu and then click on Inventory Activities | Build Assemblies to start the dialog box.
Click on the down arrow next to the field tagged ASSEMBLY ITEM and click . The New Item dialog box will start with Inventory Assembly highlighted. Select it and input an Item Name/Number in this field.
You most likely will not input anything in the Price field however, but you can type a description in the Description field. Make certain that the right price of Goods accounts is chosen in the field beneath COGS Account.
Jump down to the box beneath Bill of Materials (BOM). Click in the area beneath ITEM and click on the down arrow to start your list of inventory items. Move down to the next line and repeat this procedure until you've entered all of the components required.
QuickBooks maintains a running tally of the expenses of these items in your meeting (this is the price, not the sales price) and articles the total beneath the BOM box.
QuickBooks calculates the total price of your Bill of Materials and enters it under the data entry box.
The Asset Account should display properly as is. In the Build Point field, input the amount at which new builds must be arranged. (In this case, as soon as your inventory of this meeting falls to 3, you are going to want to make new ones.) If you understand how many builds you've got available, enter that amount in the On Hand box.
Now you may go back up and designate a Revenue Price, dependent on the price and any markup. Click OK when you are done. The following screen will ask the number of assemblies that you would like to build. Input the number in the bottom of the screen and save your own record.
