by Evan Nasseri Seo ExpertFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Al Mosul, Iraq (21/5/2018)
- Since its founding in 2003, Aspen Medical the Australian medical
services provider has been operative worldwide to raise health standards
in unfortunate areas, from fighting the Ebola outbreak in West Africa
to stabilizing the Solomon Islands after its civil collapse, along with
various actions that awarded them the gold medal in the International
Humanitarian Aid Category. Today, Aspen Medical’s efforts, and with the
help of Abu Dhabi Uniteam, has reached Iraq to mend a society torn by
war against the terrorist group ISIS.
Upon collaborating with its
sister company Abu Dhabi Uniteam, Aspen Medical managed to put into
action a Trauma Facility Center in northern Iraq. The center correctly
employs the domestic logistical assistance provided by the Emirati
investing leader Al Badie Group whose staff members put every resource
they have at the disposal of Aspen Medical, especially Dr. Yaseen
AlKamas, the Iraqi national prominent for his education and career and
the COO of Al Badie Group. Dr. Yaseen AlKamas
has successfully leveraged his deep experience in working with a wide
range of NGOs and INGOs during the first years of Iraq reconstruction
operations that were ran by international efforts after 2003.
When
asked about his key role in organizing the efforts by leveraging his
familiarity of Iraq’s logistics, domestic situation and needs, Dr. Yaseen AlKamas
commented: “This success is attributed to correctly employing hundreds
of competent personnel and properly allocating the resources of Aspen
Medical and major companies in the area such as Al-Badie Group, this was
a group effort”.
The project comprised of a 48-bed trauma field
hospital in Upper Athba, Mosul, Iraq which was the first tangible result
yielded by this mission. This center went into operations on March 24,
2017. Its success encouraged opening a second facility in Hamam Al Alil,
Mosul, Iraq on the 23rd of April. These centers also provided maternal
facilities and catered to a wide spectrum of war traumas and injuries.
The centers prevented further overcrowding of hospitals in Arbil and
saved the injured a 4-hour trip to the nearest medical center,
drastically reducing mortality rate.
