Are you good at conversation?
Are you good at conversation? How do you remember the person you spoke with? Do you listen more than you speak?
A good conversationalist will listen more than they speak. You should spend one third of the time speaking and the other two thirds listening. Most people like to talk about themselves.
You can begin by asking them what do you do? Where do you live?
Listen to the information provided by that individual. Take notes for a conversation that you may have with them later.
Perhaps you found out they have a daughter or a son and their son is going to college or maybe he/she already has a business. Maybe they have a dog or cat.
You would want to take notes and prepare some questions for the next time you speak to them.
For instance, maybe they have a cat and the cat has a bad habit of biting. You could then ask them in the next conversation about their cat. Hey, did "Charlie" (the cat) ever stop biting you? How did you get him to stop biting?
Carol is at USF (University of South Florida), how is she doing in her Business degree?
The last time we spoke you were getting your business off of the ground. How is that working out for you?
These are some examples of questions that you could come up with for the next time you speak to that individual.
When you take notes and prepare more questions for another time it makes that person feel very important. You look like you took a great deal of interest in them. This helps to build that relationship that is so important in business.

Hi Kay, Yes so many are lacking in the social end of things when it comes to interaction on the internet and I hope they read your very will said piece here. As a matter of fact, the next time I get someone who doesn't even attempt to want to know me before trying to sell me into something, (and I get that often) I will just direct them to your article.
I did all those sharing things, Thanks. :)
