Applications and production technology of cemented carbide dies
Service life of the cemented carbide die is ten times even more that of steel die, the cemented carbide die are featured with high hardness, high strength, corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance and low expansion factor, mostly made from tungsten carbide.
Grade and production technology
Just the same as the market standard material of YG3, YG6, YG6X. YG8. YG15, YG20, YG20C, YG25, HU20, HU222, HWN1 (non-magnetic alloy die) etc., taking native carbide as material, low pressure sintering as processing technic, toughness is much better than regular production, prolonging service life 3-5 times.
Application fields recommend
Common cemented carbide dies are cold heading die, cold-punching die, wire drawing die, hexagonal die, spiral mold etc.
Classification
According to applications, cemented carbide die can be classified into four kinds:
The first kind is tungsten carbide wire-drawing die, it’s the main part of cemented carbide die. Main grades of wire-drawing die are YG8, YG6 and YG3, followed by YG15, YG6X and YG3X, and several new grades have been researched, for example, new grade for high speed wire drawing and some imported wire-drawing die, such as CS05(YLO.5), CG20(YL20), CG40(YL30), K10, ZK20/ZK30 etc.
The second kind is cold heading die, cold punching die, sizing die. Main grades are YC20C, YG20, YG15, CT35, YJT30 and MO15.
The third kind is non-magnetic alloy die which used for magnetic materials manufacture. Such as YSN series (including 20、25、30、35、40) and grade TMF of steel based non-magnetic die.
The fourth kind is hot-work die, there is no standard grade in market for this kind of die temporarily, and marked demand is growing.
