Apple rumoured to Launch a 7-Inch Foldable iPhone in 2023

Apple is one of the leading smartphone manufacturers worldwide. If rumors are to be believed Apple is now embracing the “foldable phones” trend. Its biggest competitor, Samsung, has released its version of a foldable device and is all set to release the next variant hence Apple is a bit behind in this race.

The massive leak of rumors and leaks hint that testing is underway. Reportedly, Samsung is even aiding Apple since the Silicon Valley giant is inexperienced with foldable devices.

What to expect?

According to recent reports, Apple has been working on foldable devices for quite some time and has made headway with the prototypes. The device is even rumored to have Apple Pencil support. A global technology research firm called Omdia claims that Apple may launch a 7.3-7.6-inch foldable OLED smartphone in 2023 and add an activity pen to its foldable iPhone.

This is not the first time that Apple Pencil support has been rumored for iPhones but unfortunately, the feature never materialized however it will likely be with the foldable devices.  The reason being with a display as large as 7.6-inches, the foldable ‌iPhone‌ would be almost as large as the iPad mini, which has a 7.9-inch display. The ‌iPad mini‌ has supported the ‌Apple Pencil‌ since 2019, so it would make sense for a foldable ‌iPhone‌ with roughly the same display size to support it too.

The Apple Pencil is an amazing feature for illustration, handwriting, and productivity tasks that demand precision. Apple may not have seen the need to provide this with smaller screens since it would be a waste but with the foldable device, it makes sense. Additionally, we could expect a foldable device of Ceramic Shield glass, this particular technology was introduced with iPhone 12.

The Conclusion

The rumors about Apple testing foldable devices have been circling since 2016 but this is the first time we have gotten more than baseless rumors. There have been numerous reports in recent months and a timeframe for launch is taking form. It is worth noting that the tech giant has not released an official statement or even acknowledge the rumors but that is the norm.

The company is currently at odds with Facebook over their App Tracking Transparency which does not permit data sharing without the user’s consent. Facebook is quite vocal about its disapproval but Apple is standing its ground and is all set to go ahead with the update.
