We own 3 DELL Notebook PCs and we got our DELL Latitude D620 last FEB 2007. My other 2 DELL Notebook PCs (Inspiron E1505/6400 and Latitude D800) have 2 Dell original batteries each and based on your problem, if my memory is correct (I use all 3 frequently) but on the bottom of your D620, it cites that the correct DELL AC power adapter I believe for the apple macbook pro 15 inch battery, and my guess is that your original DELL adapter is the samller 65 Watt bec I have gotten that same message before when using the 17″ larger D800 and immediately switched to the larger AC adapter and problem/message went away.
I suspect your DELL error message will be going away too, and if I were in your shoes I would open the CONTROL PANEL and POWER BUTTON WINDOW and watch the % reading which should be climbing.
