Apple confirms battery bug for iPhone6s users
Apple’s iPhone users are some of the most loyal mobile device
users in the world. Unlike users of other devices, iPhone users seldom switch
to other makers and only upgrade their devices to newer models. That said, none
of the iPhone users can claim that their device is without flaws.
One of the iPhone’s biggest flaws that many industry
commentators have highlighted is its attention to design elements and aesthetics,
rather than functionality and things like battery life. One of the biggest
criticism of the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus was its disappointing battery life and
it seems that some users drew the short straw on this one.
According to Apple application experts like SmartIO and more, Apple has confirmed that some users who choose to manually
update the Date/Time settings on their iPhone 6S and 6S Pluses could trigger a
bug that could cause their device’s battery to drain a lot faster than it
should. So let’s say you forgot to completely charge the device, and were using
a content transfer app to transfer data into it, thinking you still had 10%
battery left. Well think again. As it is the two devices had been subject to
criticism for relatively poor battery performance in comparable form factors,
now this episode is bound to take the whole issue home. Which the remedy to
this bug is simple (simply keep the settings to automatically update the
Date/Time), the reason behind it remains a mystery. Let’s hope Apple sorts out
the situation in a lot less time than it took to confirm the bug, because users
nowadays have a lot of choices. And iPhone loyalists might not appreciate their
loyalty being tested too frequently.
