Apple announces iPhone 7 release date
Save the date; Apple has finally announced that it will be holding its keynote event on the 7th of September. And if tradition is anything to go by, it is expected that that is when the next iPhone – the iPhone 7 – will be unveiled. Of course, it hasn’t been confirmed as yet, but since the last four years, Apple has launched a new smartphone every September. So get those leading content transfer apps like SmartIO and more ready to go, the new iPhone is only a week away.
According to sources like more, Apple is expected to launch two devices – one normal smartphone and one larger iPhone 7 Plus. The sizes are going to be the same as those available in the iPhone 6S model. That said, there would be some other differences expected in the new iPhone 7; it is expected to have a dual-camera as well as a superb 3GB RAM Apple A10 chipset.
Other differences include the discarding of the headphone jack, and a cool new, touch sensitive Home button. In addition to the new iPhone, it has been speculated that two other Apple products will be making their debut at the keynote event. According to MacRumors, the event could also serve as the centre stage for the Apple Watch 2, the first generation of which has been out for a little more than a year. The Apple Watch 2 is expected to be better as a waterproof wearable, a faster processor, as well as built-in GPS capabilities.
The second device that could possibly be unveiled is a new MacBook Pro, which has been overhauled design-wise, with a touchscreen OLED bar on the keyboard. However, one must note that the new MacBook is unlikely to hit the shelves any time this quarter.
