MU allowed Antony to return to practice with the team after returning to Brazil to resolve personal issues.
In early September, Antony was entangled in accusations related to attacking women. The Brazilian player was then removed from the national team roster next October. MU also decided to allow Antony to stop training to handle personal matters.
The striker born in 2000 then returned to his hometown of Sao Paulo to serve the investigation. The former Ajax star also faced questions from the British police agency. On September 28, Antony worked with the police for 5 hours and answered questions related to the allegations.
Immediately afterwards, Man Utd announced their decision to allow Antony to return. The striker wearing shirt number 21 is allowed to practice again with the club and can play in upcoming matches. It is known that the club's board of directors consulted the MU women's team about Antony's case and received consensus.
On October 1, Man Utd players had a training session to prepare for the Champions League match in midweek. Antony was present at Carrington and participated in training with his teammates instead of having to practice separately.
Previously, coach Erik ten Hag confirmed Antony's return. However, he did not reveal anything more about this striker's chances of playing in the coming matches.
MU fans expect that Antony's return will create prosperity for the team's attack. MU is not in good scoring form recently and the return of the Brazilian striker will help coach Erik ten Hag add more options for attack.
As for Antony, the striker is currently dealing with two assault charges. The former Ajax star insisted that he was "injustified" and would pursue the lawsuit to the end.
