Another Wordpress Blog Problem:
My blog at nnamdiagha.com has been hacked and I am at a loss why this happened and what I can do to sort out the problem.
I do not know how this website hacking works and how I can prevent it from happening again. This is a problem that has prevented me from getting access to my blog and visitors are also prevented from getting into my site to view the articles or to make comments.
I do not know how it came about; I posted on my blog in one day and the next day, I tried logging into my admin area only to be prevented from doing so. I thought that nothing was wrong so I went straight to the site only to be confronted by "King of Yemen" who told me that my site was hacked.
What is the implication of this hacking on my website other than what I am seeing?
What do hackers benefit from hacking other people's sites?
How do I get the hacker out of my website so I can regain my site?
How do I prevent hackers from gaining access easily to my website?
So many questions begging for answers.
I need answers, please.

Yep you were hacked. The best thing you can do is pick up the pieces and start over again. I hope that you have done regular backups for your site. If not, the best thing to do is un-install wordpress and set a new blog. Make sure you notify wordpress and your server as to what happened. If you happen to get back into your site more than likely this King Of Yemen has hijacked all your links and loaded them with his own. Probably a malware, keystroker or something like that. I feel for you my fri

If you can manage your files at hosting account, log in to your hosting account and find some File manager there where you can access all files hosted on your account. try to find some latest changes there or if you know what caused this problem (maybe some plugin) delete that thing and try to log again using website access. If not solved delete everything and use your last backup to install the site again.

Thanks Radek. I have always been relaxed where my wordpress blog passwords are concerned. I will have to review all of them as soon as possible to avoid this type of ugly incident repeating. I have tried logging in to the wp-admin but it did not go. Yes, I can manage the files where it is hosted but, I do not know how. Thanks for your insight Radek.

Did you tried to log to the back directly? (nnamdiagha.com/wp-login.php) Could you manage the files where your blog is hosted? And your questions: What they want? - collect data of users to spam them; cash - that is why you have his contact there; How to prevent? - use strong passwords, carefully set permissions on who and how can access your site.

Being a techno numpty myself couldn't help you here Nnamdi, however ego lack of moral fibre and total disrespect of your hard work is all often the cause and something which seems very prevelant in general today
