Android OS becomes number 1 in popularity!
Apple was truly a company that made a revolution in the mobile world. Their iPhones and iPads have won the hearts of generations and inspired many new devices on the market. However, Apple is dropping in innovation and the open-source Android OS is rapidly growing around the world and taking first place. The new OS is especially popular among younger generations due to the wide variety of visual effects, applications and affordable costs of the mobile devices.
The hottest Android news on the wire at the moment is a recent demographic study that shows that over half of the people in the study would choose an Android OS device over an iOS device. The main reasons are the powerful capabilities of the mobile devices that Android is placed on. Phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC One X and Sony Xperia T come at only a fraction of the cost of the iPhone 5, yet they perform just as well (some will even say better, but that's up to you to be the judge).
Among the list of reasons people have listed in their statement that Android is a better choice are these:
- Affordable, yet high-quality devices
- Easy-to-use
- Open-source OS - more freedom and rooting is possible
- Better user experience
- A lot of free/cheap application are available
- Great gaming sessions
Another reason for the drop of popularity for the iOS is mainly the disappointing new iPhone 5 and the bad storied that surrounded the first launch of the iOS 6. There is still the purple flare problem with the camera on the new iPhone and the iOS maps were a total failure which brought a lot of negative publicity to the company.
