An Assortment of Great Jewish Recipes for a Better Tomorrow
Rosh Hashanah and the holy days have come and gone, and the new Jewish year is upon us. While the full enjoyment of 2020 has been significantly hampered by the current pandemic’s influence on the world, that shouldn’t stop us from trying to be better people, from trying to make better experiences for ourselves and the people around us.
One of the ways that we can celebrate the beginnings of a new year is through great food. Good food can be appreciated wherever you are, be it at home, in a fancy dining room, in your workplace, aboard Jewish cruises, or even while seated in a parking lot. However, for maximum enjoyment, we’d recommend that you savor these sample recipes on a dining table. Here’s a few recipes that we’ve compiled in our quest to have a good time for the new year.
Sephardi-Style Blintzes by Jamie Geller
Blintzes a traditional Jewish crepe that’s both soft and flavorful. They’re usually served on the Shavuot, and were traditionally created by the Ashkenazi of Eastern or Central Europe. With the way food evolves over time, however, variations of this dish have sprung up over the years. This Sephardi spin on the blintz by Jamie Geller is just one example of a piece of Jewish cuisine finding itself reinvented and reimagined by new hands.

Potato Knish by Barbara Rolek (via The Spruce Eats)
Here’s another recipe of Ashkenazi origin. The ever delectable knish is a chewy pastry snack made from dough covering the delicious filling. It can be served baked or fried, with various kinds of fillings such as meat, onions, and potatoes. This knish recipe by Barbara Rolek uses potatoes (as evident by the title), and is sure to provide you with a nice fulfilling bite to eat during your busy afternoons.
