American Pride – Ways You Can Show off Your Patriotism All Year Round

Every year the 4^th of July seems to bring a sudden rush of patriotism throughout the country. For most, the celebrations are done and over with within the nation’s birth week. However, if you’re anything like us, we know you’d love to carry on with it all year round – and rightly so; there’s so much to be proud of. Check out these simple, yet powerful, ideas to live like a patriot all year round:

Abide By the Laws

Laws are made to maintain moral and social decorum in the society. They are there to make sure the environment we live in is safe, and honorable. The very first step you can take towards undying patriotism is to obey the federal and state rules and laws – even those traffic laws. Don’t like the laws? VOTE!

Make a Difference

As a part of the community, you have a shared responsibility with other citizens to make your environment and country a better place to live in. Take part in community service, and be the change. Set up a lemonade stall on a hot day; hand out a glass to the policemen, or other people in the neighborhood; donate clothes, money, even books to the less fortunate; feed the homeless or start a recycling drive. Everything you do, no matter how small, counts!

Thank the Servicemen and Women

Yes, we do have Memorial Day and the Independence Day for that, but these men and women serve all year round in hardships - away from their homes and loved ones. Be a Responsible Citizen

As an American, you have the moral obligation of being part of the process of democracy. To ensure your involvement in important matters of the community, always vote. Raise your voice and stand up for what you believe in. If you are summoned for jury, make sure you do your part in making America a better place.

Raise the Flag

You don’t need the excuse of a particular day to fly  Old Glory! You can fly the flag all year round to show your love for the country. However, do make sure that your flag stays in good condition – replace it when it starts to fade; or worse,is torn due to harsh outdoor weather.

Your patriotism is incomplete if you do not have proper knowledge and information about your country. Watching news daily is a great way to catch up with everything that happens in your respective states and in America on the whole.Never get hooked to one news source over another.
