Over the past year, the American Express Company stock has shown a capital appreciation of 31.18%. American Express’ net income witnessed a growth of 5% in the latest quarter, driven by increased cardholder spending and the consequent revenue boost for the card-issuing company. The recent earnings beat Wall Street analysts’ expectations, yet its 4% revenue increase missed expectations. The NY-based company saw its stocks dip more than 1% in after-market trading.
