Amazon Expands Its Prime Now Service By Adding Local Stores

by MarkJ Guillen CEO
Amazon Prime Now is all set to add more goods and items from local stores in Manhattan on its platform.

Amazon, Inc. is the reigning monarch of American online shopping. The company is the best option, which gives tough competition to all established local and international online retailers. It is ready to compete against anyone, whether it is in the online retailing sector or online video content services. Amazon launched ‘Amazon Prime and ‘Amazon Prime Now’ in order to expand its business parameters.

The corporate giant announced, “Prime Now service now includes delivery from ‘local stores’.” It wants to grow its ‘Prime’ business; hence, every innovation will come to that side only. Tech Crunch reports, “Amazon Prime Now is adding items from stores in Manhattan in a move that will make it an even closer competitor to startups like Instacart and Postmates.”

Through Amazon Prime, the company previously launched drone delivery service program that included one-hour delivery and two-hour delivery program in order to speed up the delivery process. However, that program only used to make sales of goods that are available on the platform and through platform only.

Now, the corporate giant is all set to add local stores in Manhattan on its platform as well. Hence, people who used to order limited goods through Amazon Prime Now will now be able to order from many items just listed on the platform. The new stores that the company included are Billy’s Bakery, Gourmet Garage, and D’Agostino with further plans to add Westside Market and Eataly in the coming times.

The senior vice president of worldwide operations at Amazon, Dave Clark, stated, “Our Prime Now hub in Manhattan is home to tens of thousands of products that are being delivered to customers in an hour or less.” Once a user places an order for any item from these stores, the company will scoop them up and get it delivered to its designated customer within one hour. This is done in order to continue the special one-hour delivery program and expand its diversified catalogue of online offerings.

It is believed that this step will further help the company to compete against the likes of Uber and EBay. Amazon Prime Now is all set to bump into companies that are also using conventional drivers’ network to deliver meals and food in a handful of communities.

Prime Now is a part of the $99 Amazon Prime yearly partnership, which allows its customers to avail various good deals. The company is attempting to increase its user database of Prime subscribers.
