1. Removing the old labels: In case you are using the old shipping boxes, it is really good economically and ecologically. But, when it comes to customers’ satisfaction you need to be bit practical. Have you removed the old shipping labels and the bar codes? If not, then you are moving in the wrong direction. The old bar codes and the addresses can lead your package to be delivered to the wrong place. Also, it can cause confusion and delay the shipping process.

2. Free boxes can help: A number of shippers and the U.S. Postal Service offer free boxing and packaging options. Depending on what you’re sending, its weight and dimensions, there are chances that you might get free boxes. For example, if you have to ship a small and non-fragile item, you will get some free envelopes or mailers. And this way you can send them without a box.

In this case, you need to remember that there are some limitations on the size or weight of items for certain box sizes.

3. Use the H-tape method: When it comes to taping, it is the best way to properly apply tape to your packages. It is simple and keeps your package from opening up easily. Just apply the tape along all the open seams to seal the box being used for packaging. It is known as ‘H-tape’ method because it will give an ‘H-shape’ across your box’s upper surface.

4. Use the right tape: Now you know how to seal your package, but you need to learn here that the tape you use can make a huge difference. Yes, make sure you have that plastic or reinforced paper tape, usually 2 inches wide. It is specifically designed for packages. Also, it needs to be a minimum of 60-lbs. grade. Other types of tapes used are cellophane tape, scotch tape or masking tape. But these are not strong to hold your packages tightly.
