ABSTRACT

All the skin diseases vary greatly in their symptoms, presentation along with their severity. The impact on an individual’s personality a lot that's why they are always a prime concern for everyone especially females as they are much more concerned about their appearance. Even these conditions affect us emotionally. Among these skin diseases Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra is one. Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra is a skin condition that is characterized by dark black or brown, small eruptions on the skin which are usually on the face and neck. The following signs and symptoms of this disease are:

  • These lesions or bumps are usually flat but sometimes can be noticed mildly raised from the surface as like skin tags.
  • They are black and even reddish-brown in color
  • They are located more on the face and neck area but can be found on the trunk, chest as well as other parts of the body.
  • Mostly they appear in puberty and teenage and then rise with time.
  • Usually free from itching, burning sensation, or any other symptom.

Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra is easily diagnosed on the basis of clinical representation. But in some cases, biopsies can be done to confirm the diagnosis and to avert the chances of carcinomas, if there is known family history.
