All you need to know about Yamaha R15

Yamaha is a company which is famed all over the world for its extraordinary automobiles, and parts have been in the automobiles industry for over half a century now. It is a highly customer-driven company with a vast network of over 2,200 customer touchpoints, including 500 dealers in India. The company had launched a new version of the previously rocking motorbike from the R-Series(racing series): The Yamaha YZF R15 which has received some upgrades from its older version.

R15 Bike Price

The R15 has always been one of the most popular bikes in the Indian market since its launch. It is the original supersport bikeproduced by Yamaha just like its predecessors, The R-Series. The R15 was launched at Rs.1,47,300(ex-showroom), but the prices now range from Rs. 1,50,800 to 1,51,900.

Design and Colours

One of the popular reasons for the bike's respected name is because of its styling. It has an stunning design. The bike is available in three distinct colours, namely The Racing Blue, The Thunder Grey and the Dark Knight. All three of them have been portrayed magnificently on the bike complementing its features. It has got an aerodynamic LED Tail and Headlight. This design helps in the overall airflow in cooling and zipping past those slow runners.

Dual Horns and LED Display

Coming with the installation of dual horns, the R15 makes an entrance in the streets of India capturing the attention of those around it. It has also got a multi-function LCD instrument cluster with the Gear Shift Indicator. All that you need toknow while riding is displayed on this screen.

Engine

It has one beast of a 155cc liquid-cooled, single overhead camshaft fuel injection engine churns out 18.6PS @1000rpm and 14.1Nm @10000rpm, petrol engine which can reach high speeds in seconds. This features an advanced die-cast aluminium (DiASiI) cylinder with outstanding cooling performance. The YZF R15 Bike has got a Monocross rear suspension to catchup with the savage engine and the wide rear tyre for optimum balance and stability.

It has also been equipped with a six-speed transmission which helps riders to not worry about the fuel and cruise at low RPM even in higher gears, hence saving energy without missing out on the thrill. The Assist and Slipper clutch (ASC) is adopted to reduce the clutch pull's weight and provide low-stress shifting during deceleration. The ACS helps reduce fatigue for the rider.

Variable Valve Actuation(VVA)

This the first ever high-performance VVA system that provides torque for ease of use even at low RPM. The switch between the two intake valve cams ensures that good power is present throughout the entire rev range.

Comfort

The comfort has been improved from the V2 version of R15 in many ways like lowering the passenger seat by 20mm and the inclusion of best-in-class seats. With the dual ABS system in place the rider need not worry about the stopping power of the bike.
