All you need to know about HDMI cable

by Sanjeev Yadav SEO Consultant
A high definition multimedia interface or HDMI is an exclusive audio and video interface that is used to transmit uncompressed video and digital audio data. An HDMI transmits data from a source which is adaptable to HDMI. For example – a display controller is compatible with a video projector, computer monitor, or digital television.

The HDMI technology executes EIA/CEA-861. This standard defines waveforms and video standards, explains how compressed or uncompressed auxiliary data and LPCM audio gets transported, and execution of VESA EDID happens. A DVI or digital visual interface uses CEA-861 signals which are electrically compatible with the signals carried by HDMI. With the use of a DVI to HDMI adapter, video quality does not get lost and also there is no need for signal conversion. The capability of consumer electronics control or CEC allows the high definition multimedia interface devices to regulate each other in need. It also lets the user access more than one devices through a remote control device.

Though multiple HDMI versions have produced and installed since the beginning of technology, but all of them are enabled with similar type of cable and connector. Newer versions are definitely improved than the older ones not only in terms of performance, capacity, colour spaces, and resolution, but also in the modes of advanced features like Ethernet, CEC extensions, and 3D. All the HDMI cable suppliers in Delhi provide all types of cables and connectors at cost-effective rates.

HDMI Cable:
A high definition multimedia interface cable is made with two pair of shielded twisted pairs. Each of them has impedance in order of 100 Ω, and seven single conductors. Ethernet high definition multimedia interface cables differ from the conductors and produce a supplementary shielded twisted pair.

No limit is specified to determine the maximum length of an HDMI cable. Thus in practice, it is determined by the signal attenuation and it is no more than 13 m. HDMI 1.3 suggests two categories of cables – 1) category 1 is tested at 74.5 MHz., it is called the ‘standard’ one, and 2) category 2 is tested at 340 MHz, it is known as ‘high speed’.

According to HDMI 1.4, the following ones are generally known for HDMI –
•    High speed Ethernet HDMI cable
•    High speed HDMI cable
•    Standard automotive HDMI cable
•    Standards Ethernet HDMI cable
•    Standard HDMI cable

The cables which remain marked with authentication level for anti-counterfeiting are called as premium high speed HDMI cable and premium high speed Ethernet HDMI cable.
