by Steven Jones Owner
Have you decided to go to the Halloween party this year? Well, you have decided your costume also that you will wear to this party. The main focus of people during this time is to look pretty and due to this reason, costume contact lenses become more popular. It will give a finishing touch to your costume and enhance your appearance in the way you have never imagined before. These contact lenses are available in all kinds of looks that range from fairy princess to vampire contacts and in every look that comes in between. So, you can easily pick the one that is according to your costume and helps you to flaunt that.

Nowadays, people do not treat contact lenses as a medical device because of their extreme use. Costume contact lenses are regulated by the FDA because these are touched at the eye and due to improper use, any type of consequence can happen. Therefore, a prescription is required from an eye care practitioner whether you are going to purchase costume lenses or costume contact lenses.  It is not only mandatory for the people who have an eye vision problem, but also for those who have perfect vision. Along with this, it is also important to follow the instructions of an eye doctor as you do before taking the pill.

Why do you need to consult with an eye doctor?

The eye doctor will not only give you a prescription but also provide the right size and shape of the lens. The correct size is important because contact lenses are manufactured in various sizes and all are not perfect for everyone. If the lens will fit properly to your eyes, the contacts will seat on the cornea and moves a little when people blink their eyes. This movement is called as a translation by the eye doctors.

If the contact lens will not fit your eyes, then it causes serious problems like open sores and scrapes on the cornea that increases the risk of blinding bacterial or fungal infections. Other than this, it also results in suctioning onto an eye. It leads to trapped debris that tries to remove the lens and also the lens can harm the cornea’s skin layer.

So, whether you are going to Halloween or want to wear costume contact lenses on another day of the year, first visit your optician for an eye exam and get a prescription for buying the right contact lens. Having a prescription is not enough; you need to follow all the instructions for wearing in a proper manner and also care of your lenses with attention. For all these things, the first requirement is to search for an experienced and licensed eye doctor.
