Recently in China, Oppo has released a smartwatch which looks exactly like an Apple watch.

Well, Oppo watches indeed look similar to any other product when you wear it on your hands. The design of the watch from strap to the screen, it seems slightly familiar to the iOS smartwatch, but it’s not the copy of the product.

But having a similar look doesn’t make any product a lousy product. Even purchasing this smartwatch is a worthy deal and it is reliable because the product is launched by one of the greatest smartphone companies in the world, Oppo. The review is based on the Chinese version of the product, but by reading this review, you will get to know about the Hardware and the software present in the watch.

First of all, this smartwatch indeed looks like an Apple watch. But there is an OLED screen, which makes it a smarter watch than anyone. The Oppo watch is slightly larger than the Apple Watch. The Oppo has a 46mm screen while Apple’s watch is 1.91 inches smaller than this watch. Oppo smartwatch has a somewhat shrunken screen with curved edges across the screen, which makes its design pretty cool. It is difficult to determine whether the company uses the Pentile subpixel layout in framing this watch, whereas the Apple watch is known for using red-green-blue stripes. It really doesn’t matter the use of Pentile subpixel layout as it doesn’t affect its other features. But you may go for its pixel density which is similar to the Apple (326 PPI). Even the colours used in this watch are easy to see from outside because of its vibrant nature.

Now let’s talk about the design and its inspiration. The cue of the layout of the watch is taken from the Oppo’s smartphone. Their smartphones have curved edges as this smartwatch has. You will not find any crown-style control in this watch, but two physical buttons are present on the right side of the watch, and other things will be managed easily with the help of the touchscreen feature.

If you look towards the strap, you will find it as similar to the Apple watch. Both have a detachable strap with a single release button mechanism on the smartwatch.

If you see the Oppo’s aluminium made smartwatch with a fine finish of glossy blue colour, it will remind you about the Apple watch made up of steel at first glance. The Oppo watch will be available in the steel variant, but you will only get this watch in “brighter silver” colour. There will be a black rubber strap that may help you in keeping in the comfort zone.

Overall, the watch gets full number as per the design and features, but when you wear Oppo smartwatch, the people will always think that either you are wearing an Apple watch or wearing something that exactly looks similar to the product. The Oppo smartwatch hasn’t its unique identity, which will put pressure on the company.

With this smartwatch, you will get ColorOS, which is the customized version of the Latest Android. There are more chances that people will not go for the product because of its lack of originality, and also there is no new feature in this smartwatch, but if you go for it, you will get a flawless product. The software of the product also looks similar to the watchOS, which is quite good and people will love this product as well.

The colorOS watch is simple, unlike WatchOS and Tizen. It is effortless to use like, if you want to bring an Application drawer, then push the top button and when you press the bottom button, then you will get the setting menu presents in the watch. For changing the faces, you just have to swipe left or right, and by swiping down, you will get the quick accessibility of the settings screen. By swiping up, the notification shade will be open. After using these features, you will get a smooth and responsive experience. Even, the notification option in the watch will display content like Messenger messages, but you can’t reply from there.

Now, let us tell you about some of the exciting things about the software about the Oppo watch. You will get the exciting feature in this watch, which is its selection of the in-built application that you can access by scrolling which is a good feature. You may find some applications like a fitness tracker, phone calls, weather forecast and stopwatch.

There is a unique feature which is sleep tracking, which is not present in Apple’s smartwatch. Some of you may love a five-minute full-body workout, but if you follow any video demonstration, then you will love your work-out session more. But it is impossible to see the watch in the middle of the workout.

There is a big issue with the battery life of the watch, which is not at all good for the product. There are more chances that you may need to recharge your watch every night. As the product offers 40 hours of battery life, but some bugs must be fixed to achieve this running time. However, your watch will regain its battery life itself a little earlier than usual. It takes 75 minutes to charge fully and just take 15 minutes to get 50% of the battery life. Even the battery saving mode of the Oppo is much more efficient than Apple’s watch. You can’t be able to use applications on your smartwatch, but you still can be able to see the notification on the screen.

Review

The Oppo watch is not the product that everyone will go for because of its lack of originality or uniqueness. Let’s wait for the product to launch in the other market, and there are some speculations that it will be going to launch in the second half of this year.
