Nowadays, it seems like everyone is upgrading.

Last Valentine's Day, even Cupid upgraded his skills, instead of using a bow and arrow, he had a crossbow.

Here's how it works.

Using the new hybrid learning system, you can train for your basic medical aesthetician certification online, using their custom-designed education modules. While a certain amount of hands-on training is required, the Dermysk Academy’s new system makes it easier to do as much of the learning as you can at home, with real, practical, hands-on instruction near the end of the course.

All you need to enroll in the Basic Medical Aesthetician course is a high school diploma or any form of relevant work experience. The Basic course provides certification in up to a dozen common medical aesthetic procedures and acts as a prerequisite for the Advanced class - which covers some of my favourite techniques, like CoolSculpting.

After completing the online training modules, you just have to attend a one-week hands-on training program at your local Dermysk Academy. During your practical training, you'll get experience working with actual clients, because the Dermysk team wants to ensure that you're knowledgeable, comfortable, and experienced with each of the procedures you will be certified for.

Their unique approach allows you to get real-world experience working with clients at the Dermysk Medical Aesthetics Clinic. While these training opportunities involve actual medical aesthetic procedures on real people, they are always performed under trained supervision, to ensure the safety of both yourself and the client.

So what's covered by the Basic course?

Everything you need to get started working in the industry, of course - but let's break it down a bit.

In the Basic course, you will receive an overview of the industry, learn about the regulatory and legal considerations, acquire basic business strategies, and learn several popular procedures. These will likely include laser hair removal, photo rejuvenation, pigmentation, micro-needling, fractional ablation, and acne treatments.
