Agarwal Wedding Traditions and Customs

You can find many people belonging to the Agarwal community in North India. It is a typical Hindu festival of the union of two souls. The beginning of the traditions will be the use of any Agarwal marriage bureau website to choose the right pair. After that, the ceremonies will begin and will go on for a few days. Fascinating Ceremonies in Agarwal Matrimony

Mudha-Tikka – It is the official engagement of Agarwal marriage. The date of the wedding will be finalized and announced to the family members. The bride’s father will apply Tilak on the head of the groom and there will be an exchange of gifts. 

Godh Bharai – It is the time of gifting the bride with several gifts including dresses, bangles, necklaces, and many more that can add value to a girl’s appearance. The groom’s sister will be bringing these gifts to the bride. 

Sangeet – It is an expression of their joy where every a family members will gather one evening and enjoy to the core with dance and music. 

Mehendi – It is a ceremony for the ladies in the bride’s family. Everyone from a child to a mature lady will apply different varieties of Mehendi on their hands and feet with a full night of joy and celebration. However, the bride’s decoration is the focus point. 

Haldi ceremony – Haldi is the first ceremony on the wedding day. It is similar to the traditional Hindu ceremony of applying holy paste having turmeric mixed with other sacred items on the bodies of the couple. They believe this process will cleanse them before the wedding. 

Baraat – When the groom is ready to move to the wedding venue, the family members will tie up a turban to him and everyone will make their way to the Mandap with the groom on a white mare. A friend and family members will be accompanying him on the journey. 

Aarti – At the venue, there will be a warm welcome to the groom with an arti by his about-to-be mother-in-law.

Ganesh Pooja – On the wedding day, there will be a pooja for Lord Ganesh at the venue. The groom’s family will do the pooja once they reach the Mandap. It is to ask the blessings of the Lord to help to complete the event without any hindrance. 

Gaur Pooja – At the same time on the wedding day, there will be a pooja for the goddess Gauri at the house of the bride by her family members to receive the blessings of the goddess to provide the bride a peaceful marriage life. 

Jaimala – The wedding will be completed with an exchange of garland by the groom and the bride to each other.

Kanyadan – It is the ending of the marriage where the bride’s father will hand over his girl’s hand to his son-in-law with eyes full of tears. It is known as Kanyadan and a grand feast will follow this ceremony.
