Agadir Holidays Give You Many Opportunities to Unwind

by Amanda Sutcliffe Travel Deals

Agadir was nearly destroyed in the year 1960 when it was hit by a powerful earthquake. Today, it would be quite difficult for you to believe this upon seeing the amazing transformation that the city has undergone over the decades. Today, it is a popular tourist destination of Morocco that has some fabulous attractions in store for its tourists, such as excellent stretches of sands along its coast, some fantastic pubs, and elegant restaurants. You would be delighted to take a stroll on its beachfront promenade, which gives a wonderful space for both locals and tourists to enjoy some pleasant moments.

Summer arrives in this city during May and continues until the month of November. This season is characterised by temperatures ranging from 22.5 to 26-Degree Celsius, which is greatly favoured by tourists to explore the city and to enjoy their time on the beach. If you are looking forward to enjoying some exciting deals on hotel accommodations, it is better not to plan your Agadir holidays during this season. Instead, you can choose to visit during the winter season which the city experiences between December and April. The weather during this season is characterised by low humidity, but the cool temperatures keep many of the tourists away. Owing to the lesser crowds of tourists, the hotels offer some attractive discounts on their room rates.

Besides the beach, you can explore the Kasbah during your cheap holidays to Agadir. It is the only major historic attraction in this city. It dates back to the mid-16th century when there was a bustling population within its magnificent walls. Upon getting to the city centre, you would get the opportunity to visit the Amazigh Museum and the Agadir Memorial Museum. They contain a wide range of exhibits that introduce you to the city's rich cultural heritage and its intriguing history. The Grand Mosque, known for its uniqueness and modernist architectural style is also worth exploring.

Located about 14 kilometres to the east of Agadir is the Crocopark, which is home to the Nile crocodiles. This park has played an important role in their conservation and has been built to resemble their natural habitat. During your visit to this park, you can learn more about the crocodiles and the varieties of flora and fauna from the highly knowledgeable staff. Your cheap Agadir holidays can also be made memorable with a trip to the Souss-Massa National Park, which is located about 65 kilometres to the south of the city. It is Morocco's prominent place for bird-watching, as it is home to diverse species of endangered birds.

While there are several restaurants in the city, which offer different varieties of international cuisines like European, Chinese, Korean, and Thai, you can also relish the local dishes. One of the popular delicacies of the Moroccan cuisine is the Harira, which is a soup made using lentils mixed with chickpea, coriander, and cinnamon. Another savoury treat is the Pastilla, which is prepared using chicken, cinnamon, saffron, parsley, and almonds wrapped in a filo pastry.
