There are hundreds of ways to increase your earnings while promoting affiliate programs.
Very few marketers ignore the fact that a very important technique of promoting a certain product is that by increasing the affiliate marketing bottom line and selling the product through the use of product recommendations.

The customers or rather the visitors to your site are sure to like your recommendations if they trust you and your website. But there is also a pitfall in this. You should not start promoting each and everything that you see on the net or else the trust of your customers is going to wear off.

There is no hard and fast rule that the demerits of the thing you are promoting should not be written in the newsletter. By pointing out the faults of the product yourself, you are building up the trust that the people have on you instead of reducing the trust.

While recommending a product, keep the following things in mind:

Write as if you are an expert in the field, though it may involve doing some research.

Remember that if the visitors to your site feel  amp; believe that you are an expert in the area that you are promoting, then it is more likely that they are going to take the product or service. However, if they somehow feel that you are yourself not confident about the product, they may not want to even take a look at the product and
probably search for another product or service which they can believe more easily.

The question that comes to your mind is:

How do I develop this kind of expertise in the niche? The answer is to research on the topic and be ready to answer all the doubts that may arise in their minds.

You will have to show them the proof that the product which you are promoting really works as said. Try to get as many testimonials from the experts in that field and be sure to show the people those testimonials.

Do not try to hype the product into something very great. It's no use promoting a simple man as a Superman.

And remember this rule: Never think that the people to whom you are promoting your product have just landed from Mars and do not know anything about the product. If they believe that the product is really going to help them to fulfill their needs, they are going to purchase that. If not, they surely have the right to choose.

Including freebies with your product also boosts up your sales. Hence, try to offer the people some freebies about your product or about anything else.

Before you really recommend a product, you should try to use the product at least once or if that is not possible, you may want to hear the words of wisdom from others who may have used the same products.
