Advice on how to clean roller blinds on the Gold Coast
Roller blinds and window blinds on the Gold Coast are a great way to revamp and smarten up your house. They are an extremely elegant option to cover up your windows and they fit in with all sorts of decors. It is vital that you regularly clean and maintain the blinds and awnings in your Gold Coast property, as this will extend their life and keep them looking like their best. The correct cleaning method entirely depends on what material they are made out of. If they cannot be used and submerged into water, the only way of cleaning them is to rub them spot by spot. Otherwise, you should submerge the blinds into water and follow the following procedure.
Preparation
If the blinds have a very grubby appearance and have a lot of dirt on them, you should first use your vacuum cleaner to remove any surface dirt. Carefully remove the blinds out of the rollers frame and lay them very carefully onto the floor. Once again, you should use the vacuum cleaner to remove and loose debris such as dead bugs and dust. You should use a large container or bathtub with warm water. You can add some soap detergent to the water and mix it together in order to create a mildly soapy solution. If you have blinds that are bright white in colour, you can add a small amount of bleach that will help boost the brightness of the blinds. Very delicately, you should put the blinds into the water and leave them there for a few hours so they can soak up the soapy water solution.
Cleaning
After you have soaked the blinds in the water for a number of hours, you should take the blinds at one end and very carefully wipe them in a back and forth motion using a sponge or a soft cloth. This removes any spots of dirt or other debris that have stained the blinds. If there are any tough stains that haven’t come off, use an old toothbrush in order to scrub them clean. Once you have completed the cleaning, empty the water and will it with clean water in order to rinse the blinds until they are clean of soapy residue. Make sure all the soap is off as any remaining spots will attract dust and debris straight away. Dry the blinds over a rack or clothesline until they are bone dry.
