Advice from Quality Glass Solutions for your new pool fencing installation
A very rewarding and money saving project to complete is to install your new aluminium pool fencing on the Gold Coast by yourself. It is a project you can work on with a partner and it won’t take that long to complete once you have all of the necessary tools and materials. Here is some advice on how to properly install your new pool fencing.
Preparation
You should begin by setting up a string line in order to mark exactly where you want the fence to begin and end. You should extend the end poles a little bit further than you will be putting the fence as the will allow you a bit more space when working near the ends. Make sure the line is tight to prevent it moving with the wind. Make sure that when you are erecting the fences that you don’t touch the line as you don’t want to end up with a bent fence.
While if your site is on level ground you can skip this step, often people will have gardens that have certain slopes. These should be eliminated in order to give the fence a uniform look. You should use another line of string in order to mark out what level horizontally you want the fence to be. You should now level the ground in order to match your string line. You should start at the highest point and work your way down the line.
Dig your holes
Once the ground is level, you can now begin to dig the holes. You should clearly mark them and make sure that they are deep enough so that the fence will be secured properly. You should also make the holes wide enough in order to allow you to pour concrete into it. Using concrete will help to really secure the fencing and prevent any accidents from occurring whether due to the wind or people running into the fencing.
Place the fencing into the holes
It is always a good idea to have a helper with you when doing this. One person should hold the fencing while the other lines it up correctly and pours in the concrete. You should ensure that the fencing is adequately propped up to ensure that the concrete settles properly. When you have the framing up, you can now insert the panels that will make up the bulk of your fence. These should easily fit into place.
