SA Water, the state-owned utility organisation that provides water and sewerage services to over 1.7 million South Australians, has upgraded its metropolitan fleet with Isuzu D-Max utes, fitted with Hidrive aluminium service body canopies. This ute fleet, which consists of water maintenance vehicles and sewer maintenance vehicles, is designed to improve the efficiency and safety of SA Water's civil maintenance crews. The SA Water's civil maintenance vehicles are based on the Isuzu D-Max utes, which offer a range of features such as advanced driver assistance systems, a 3.0-litre turbo diesel engine, and a six-speed automatic transmission. The vehicles were sourced by North East Isuzu, despite the global supply shortages of new vehicles during the pandemic.

Hidrive aluminium service body canopies are custom-built to suit the specific needs of SA Water's operations. The service bodies are made of lightweight and durable aluminium, which reduces fuel consumption and increases payload capacity. The service body canopies also feature a modular design, which allows for easy configuration and reconfiguration of the internal and external storage compartments.

The water maintenance service bodies are equipped with hydro-vac units, blasting units, and other tools that enable the crews to perform water network repairs and inspections using modern technology. The sewer maintenance service bodies are equipped with jetting units, CCTV units, and other tools that enable the crews to perform sewer network repairs and inspections using non-destructive methods.

The new fleet was delivered by Service Stream, a leading provider of essential network services in Australia. Service Stream is SA Water's metropolitan service delivery partner, responsible for managing and maintaining SA Water's water and sewer networks. Service Stream worked closely with Hidrive to ensure that the ute service body canopies met SA Water's requirements and expectations.
