United Airlines Baggage Policy

United allows one carry-on baggage and one personal item free of cost per passenger. The personal item should be small in size and fit properly in the overhead bin or under-seat storage space such as a purse, laptop or small bag.

Note- United allows only one personal item for Basic Economy passengers.

Carry-on Baggage

Carry-on bags must not exceed the dimensions of 22 x 35 x 56cm, including the handles and wheels. The personal item must be fit in the dimensions of 22 x 25 x 43cm.

Checked Baggage

Checked bags should not exceed the dimensions of 62 inches or 157 centimeters (length + width + height).

What are Oversize bags for United Airlines?

United Airlines Check-in

Online check-in

United Airlines online check-in starts 24 hours before departure of the scheduled flight and closes 1 hour before the departure.

Airport Check-In

For domestic flights, passengers with checked baggage must check- in 30 minutes and with checked baggage must check-in 45 minutes before departure.

For international flights, passengers with or without checked baggage must check-in at least 60 minutes before departure.
