ACTING MODELLING PORTFOLIO

Meeting with photographers that work from an acting or modeling portfolio was in an advertisement for a physical fitness store. A few of the models were having their pictures taken while they worked out, and I was blown away by their looks and how well they were looking. It was the most impressive thing I had ever seen at that time. I thought to myself, “There has got to be a better way to deal with these people.” After that experience, Developed a strategy for approaching model and photographer portfolios that help me pick models that will work well with my business needs. Always try to go and meet photographers near me to make sure that they have what it takes to take the type of photographs I need. I want to make sure that the photographers are energetic people that enjoy taking photographs as much as I do. They should love to do it and enjoy their jobs. Models that are just in it for the money don’t have much enthusiasm about working out in the first place, and they won’t be enthusiastic about giving it their all either. The best photographers near my office are those who are really passionate about their work and love their models.

Always let them know that I am open to new faces and new talents, but I also don’t rule out the more experienced ones. For example, one of my favorite models was introduced to us by a former client. She told us all about her past experiences with a particular model and how she felt about being associated with him. She had great things to say about the model’s professionalism and enthusiasm for her job.

When visiting photographers near my place, I also encourage the models to give me more than a photo session. I encourage them to talk to the photographers about their jobs and what makes them more successful. For example, they can tell me about their favorite projects, or the challenges they faced,

or the things they still want to improve upon. If the models are open to this kind of feedback,

I know they will work hard to make themselves better at their jobs.

Ask the models to describe themselves in terms of their looks, or how they can make you see their real personality. Ask the photographers to find out about their backgrounds, and favorite cities. For example, some models might love to shoot in London, while others in America might find New York to be more appealing.

The photographers close to the place will generally have a list of contacts, or people who they regularly recommend to other models near their place. These contacts often act as intermediaries between models and photographers. They can help to provide photos for modeling agencies, and even to help the photographers with job offers and opportunities. A good photographer who is recommended by a model may even be willing to take some photos for another model, so contact is important. A model can also act as a handler,

helping to move the photos around and showing the required areas to the models near them.
