Accident Attorney: New Jersey Man's Car Wreck Led to Severe Criminal Charges

Last month, police removed Joseph E. Rubino from his crashed van and discovered ammunition and assault weapons. This is an extreme example that an accident injury attorney rarely sees where a seemingly simple crash can lead to a lifetime in prison.

The car accident occurred on July 24 at approximately 9:45 a.m. Rubino was driving north in Allamuchy on Route 517 when he lost control of his vehicle for reasons unknown. The vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree along the southbound side of the road. Rubino, as well as his passenger, received serious injuries from the accident and emergency personnel airlifted them to Morristown Medical Center.

The accident directly caused leg injuries for Rubino. Unconfirmed sources, as of August 21, indicated that the passenger was still in a coma.

The incident became more than Console and Associates P.C. could handle when the emergency personnel removed Rubino from his vehicle for medical treatment. The law officers on the scene clearly saw firearms and ammunition in the vehicle at the time.

Based on the weapons and ammunition found in the vehicle, authorities got a search warrant for the home of Rubino. There, they found 18 more weapons, over 7 pounds of marijuana, a grenade launcher, 70 grams of likely methamphetamine, five pounds of hashish, and 200 cannabis vape cartridges along with an ounce of crystal methamphetamine. There were also numerous indications of Rubino’s white supremacist values. These discoveries led to a range of charges, with the most serious being the federal charge of drug trafficking, which could lead to life in prison.
